Site-integrated art can be found throughout our fair city, and chances are that at least one piece you’ve admired is the work of a very active, behind-the-scenes husband-and-wife team—Judith and Daniel Caldwell, Design Achievement Award winners in 2005.

In their own anonymous way, this artistic duo is defining Seattle’s public art scene. Their often-thought-provoking work, such as “Flying Fish” in concourse B of Sea-Tac International Airport and the Solstice Plaza at Quadrant Lake Union Center in Fremont, enhance the beauty of our public settings while encouraging onlookers to examine our region’s story beyond the art.
